Finch first started playing softball when she was just five years old. Her home is in La Mirada in California. Doug his father, Doug, became her first pitching teacher. Jennie began using the Finch Windmill, a device for arm strengthening and conditioning when she was 10 years old. As a high schooler, she threw six no-hitters, as well as 13 games that were perfect. Then she went to University of Arizona. University of Arizona where she was a three-time All-American pitcher and a first baseman.
